“Silence is not the absence of something,
rather the presence of everything.”
Silence has been one of my greatest teachers.
During a period of solitude in the mountains of Nepal, I spent eight days in complete silence and isolation. Without distraction, the noise of the world faded, and in that stillness, life began to speak in a new language.
What I discovered was profound: layers of gratitude rising to the surface, clarity unfolding where confusion once lived, and a deeper sense of peace that felt both ancient and alive.
In the quiet, I began to understand that silence isn’t empty, it’s full of answers. It holds the whisper of truth, of connection to nature, to the wisdom of the heart.
“When you can bear your own silence, then you are free.”
This retreat at Lisnavagh House is an invitation to explore that same freedom.
We’ll begin and end our time together with gentle connection and community, but the heart of the retreat will be a journey inward: a space to rest in silence, to listen deeply, and to return to your own ānanda — your inner joy and peace.
This retreat is for someone who:
• needs a break and some time away to reset
• seeks to go a little deeper into a meditation practice
• needs to reduce stimulation/ dopamine detox
• seeks creative inspiration
• open to trying a new experience
Although not required, having meditation experience is recommended before coming on this retreat.
